About Andrew Gatenby
Indigo Agriculture Principal Andrew Gatenby has spent more than 20 years combining his two key areas of interest and expertise, finance and farming, into a unique business service.
Andrew has extensive experience as an institutional level fund manager working with large scale Australian and overseas pension and superannuation funds in equities and direct investments across mining, energy, infrastructure and agriculture sectors.
Andrew comes from a multigenerational farming family and also has worked a diversity of agribusiness jobs from jackaroo to farm/feedlot management to integrated food companies.
His know-how comes from a variety of roles including:
- Founding partner of Solaris Investment Management, a highly successful boutique Australian Equities Funds Management Group
- Equity Analyst and Portfolio Manager for one of Australia’s leading financial services institutions
- Agribusiness Manager for one of the world’s largest vertically integrated supply chain organisations which supplied high quality meat products to a major Australian supermarket chain.
- Property Development, Environment & Conservation Manager for Australia’s then largest beef producer with 27 cattle stations covering 12 million hectares and running 550,000 cattle.
- Agricultural Consultant for a multi-disciplined agribusiness consulting firm working with rural businesses on the financial and technical aspects of their operations.
